Summary
The Logistics Specialist is responsible for executing end-to-end material logistics operations within a cGMP-regulated manufacturing environment. This role supports manufacturing by ensuring accurate receiving, sampling, storage, transfer, weighing, kitting, and shipment of materials, including hazardous materials, while maintaining strict compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Material & Warehouse Operations
- Receive, sample, store, transfer, and distribute materials in a cGMP environment
- Perform weighing and kitting of direct materials for manufacturing use
- Prepare raw materials and components for shipment to other manufacturing sites
- Handle and ship hazardous materials as required
- Perform washing of soiled parts and equipment using designated systems
- Conduct inventory management, ordering, storage, and cycle counts to achieve 100% inventory accuracy
- Maintain accurate documentation and raw material inventory records.
Systems & Documentation
- Accurately enter data into business and quality systems (DCS, POMS, SAP, LIMS, PQS, etc.)
- Maintain inspection-ready documentation at all times
- Ensure compliance with cGMP procedures and regulatory requirements.
Equipment & Safety
- Safely operate material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, drum lifters/conditioners, RF equipment)
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
- Adhere strictly to safety guidelines and immediately report incidents, near misses, or hazards
Collaboration & Compliance
- Identify process issues through “line of sight” accountability and escalate concerns to supervisors
- Communicate effectively and professionally within a team environment
- Proactively complete required training and certifications
- Comply with all company policies and procedures
- Perform miscellaneous material handling duties as required
Required Skills
- Experience working with computer-based systems in a validated environment
- Prior warehouse, logistics, or inventory management experience
- Experience operating powered industrial equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks)
- Familiarity with ERP, quality, or manufacturing systems (SAP, LIMS, etc.)
- Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated manufacturing settings.
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills with a high level of accuracy
- Ability to follow detailed procedures in a regulated (cGMP) environment
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-based environment
- Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline
