Temporary EHS Specialist responsible for providing hands-on Environmental, Health, and Safety support across manufacturing, facilities, contractors, and project activities. Ensures regulatory compliance, identifies workplace hazards, investigates incidents, supports risk reduction, and maintains continuity of critical EHS programs.

Summary
Temporary EHS Specialist responsible for providing hands-on Environmental, Health, and Safety support across manufacturing, facilities, contractors, and project activities. Ensures regulatory compliance, identifies workplace hazards, investigates incidents, supports risk reduction, and maintains continuity of critical EHS programs.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily EHS support and visible field presence for employees, contractors, supervisors, Facilities, and project teams.
- Support safety reviews for equipment installation, startup, modification, maintenance, and construction activities.
- Conduct incident investigations and support root cause analysis.
- Develop, track, and follow up on corrective actions.
- Perform field inspections, audits, safety observations, and hazard assessments.
- Support EHS programs, compliance activities, and required documentation.
- Develop, review, and maintain Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Support contractor safety through work-plan reviews, field oversight, and control verification.
- Maintain emergency response readiness, including equipment, supplies, and documentation.
- Deliver EHS training, coaching, and safety awareness activities.
- Track action items, audit findings, compliance requirements, and project commitments.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement practical risk-reduction measures.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Facilities, Operations, contractors, and site leadership.
- Manage assigned EHS activities independently and ensure timely completion.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, EHS, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or related technical discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 3 years of experience in occupational safety, EHS, manufacturing safety, industrial safety, facilities safety, or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA General Industry requirements.
- Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Experience managing corrective actions.
- Experience performing risk assessments, audits, inspections, and field evaluations.
- Contractor safety experience.
- Experience supporting equipment installation, commissioning, maintenance, construction, or project activities preferred.
- Experience developing or maintaining Lockout/Tagout procedures preferred.
- Strong hazard recognition and risk assessment skills.
- Practical judgment and sound decision-making.
- Strong organizational and follow-through skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build effective cross-functional relationships.
- Strong field presence and employee engagement skills.
- Manufacturing, advanced manufacturing, electronics, semiconductor, or industrial operations experience preferred.
- Familiarity with OSHA Construction requirements preferred.
- Emergency response or emergency preparedness experience preferred.
- Certifications such as ASP, GSP, CSP, or CHMM are a plus.
- Experience working in highly regulated environments is preferred.
