Tektronix is seeking a highly skilled Technology Lead to represent us in the IEEE 802.3 and Automotive Ethernet consortiums, playing a key role in the development of next-generation High-Speed and Low-Speed Ethernet technologies.

In this strategic position, you will collaborate closely with standards bodies to define compliance and interoperability requirements for Ethernet-based technologies. You will also work with our engineering teams to translate these standards into actionable, cutting-edge test and validation solutions. This role positions you at the intersection of technology, industry leadership, and product innovation, ensuring Tektronix continues to lead in Ethernet testing solutions across datacenter, networking, and automotive markets.

As a Technology Lead, you will drive the alignment of Tektronix’s product portfolio with the latest industry trends, customer needs, and emerging standards, shaping the future of Ethernet validation in the market.

Who You Are

  • A Trusted Leader and Influencer: You build trust effortlessly across all levels of the organization, inspiring and guiding teams through influence rather than direct authority.
  • A Visionary Problem Solver: You understand customer workflows and validation challenges for Ethernet technologies, and you translate those insights into impactful solutions that solve real-world problems.
  • A Technical Enthusiast: You are passionate about Ethernet technology, with deep expertise in high-speed (up to 1.6T/800G/400G) and low-speed/automotive Ethernet. You understand how these technologies integrate into customer platforms and are excited about their potential to transform industries.

What You’ll Do

  • Standards Representation & Advocacy: Represent Tektronix in Ethernet standards bodies—including IEEE 802.3, OIF, UALink, Ethernet Alliance, and OPEN Alliance (Automotive Ethernet)—actively contributing to working groups to influence and shape test requirements and compliance programs.
  • Solution Architecting & Technology Alignment: Lead the design and architecture of validation solutions that align with Ethernet standards ensuring Tektronix’s offerings address compliance, interoperability, and performance requirements.
  • Strategic Partnerships & Industry Engagement: Build strong relationships with industry stakeholders—semiconductor vendors, OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, datacenter providers—to drive collaborative technology development and ensure customer validation needs are met.
  • Product & Marketing Strategy: Leverage insights from standards activities, competitor analysis, and customer engagement to inform Tektronix’s product strategy and positioning in Ethernet test.
  • Problem Solving & Customer Focus: Partner with customers to address validation challenges for high-speed links, in-vehicle networking, and interoperability testing. Translate customer insights into innovative solutions and provide technical support throughout adoption.
  • Thought Leadership & Technical Content: Publish technical papers, present at standards and industry conferences, and create influential technical content that positions Tektronix as a leader in Ethernet validation.
  • Team Leadership & Cross-functional Collaboration: Mentor and lead engineers while collaborating with Product Management, R&D, Sales, and Marketing to ensure solutions align with market and technical needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 8 years in high-speed data interfaces or networking technologies, with strong validation expertise in Ethernet (high-speed and/or automotive).
  • Proven experience participating in industry standards bodies (IEEE 802.3, OPEN Alliance, OIF) with understanding of how standards shape ecosystems.
  • Hands-on experience with High Speed and/or Low speed Ethernet compliance and protocol validation using oscilloscopes, BERTs, AWGs, and compliance automation software.
  • Strong analytical skills to connect technical details to market and product strategy.
  • Excellent communication skills for representing Tektronix in external forums.
