About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Product Designer with deep expertise in designing complex, data-rich digital experiences. In this role, you will drive end-to-end design work—from early discovery and user research through high‑fidelity design, prototyping, and final delivery. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional partners across product, engineering, and research to shape intuitive, scalable, and visually compelling user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to all phases of the design process: discovery research, concept development, iteration, formative evaluation, and final design delivery.
• Design digital interfaces including dashboards, data visualizations, and system-driven UI patterns.
• Create wireframes, high-fidelity visuals, and interactive prototypes to communicate intent and validate design decisions.
• Work closely with product managers and engineers to define scope, shape solutions, and iterate effectively throughout development.
• Partner with UX researchers to participate in discovery, usability testing, and design validation.
• Conduct and champion user research across utilities, dealers, technicians, and homeowners to inform design direction.
• Use customer insights and data to guide design decisions and measure impact.
• Balance user needs, technical constraints, and business objectives in day-to-day decision-making.
• Translate complex requirements—such as telemetry, load shaping, TOU rates, and device control—into intuitive, scalable user experiences.
• Actively participate in agile ceremonies and adjust design strategies as new insights emerge.
• Support quality assurance efforts to ensure accurate implementation of design intent.
• Communicate design rationale clearly through documentation, specifications, and asynchronous artifacts.
• Utilize the Air Design System for efficient, consistent execution and identify opportunities to improve and extend the system.
• Integrate AI technologies into your daily workflow to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the design process.
• Serve as a design quality multiplier by offering constructive critique, mentoring others, and elevating team capabilities.
• Demonstrate curiosity, humility, and continuous learning—sharing your expertise while being open to new tools and methods.
• Maintain a positive, solutions-oriented approach, even in ambiguity.
• Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams, articulating design intent and tradeoffs to influence stakeholder alignment.
  
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 4 years of experience designing and shipping successful software products.
• 4 years designing complex or enterprise-scale applications.
• 4 years working with modern design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma).
• 4 years creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI with strong design rationale.
• 1 year of experience using AI tools to accelerate design and creative workflows.
  
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, HCI, Interaction Design, or related field.
• Experience with AI-enabled design tools (e.g., Figma Make, Cursor, Lovable).
• Working knowledge of front‑end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React) to inform design decisions.
• Strong understanding of visual design fundamentals: typography, layout, color, hierarchy.
• Experience in energy, IoT, smart home platforms, or utility programs.
• Familiarity with OpenADR, IEEE 2030.5, or DERMS platforms.
• Experience working across hardware software ecosystems.
• Prior experience designing for enterprise or operational tooling is a strong plus.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Palm Beach Gardens, FL.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00/hr.
