This role will combine day-to-day network support with participation in infrastructure upgrades and improvement efforts. The ideal candidate is technically strong, proactive, and comfortable operating in a Tier 1 network support capacity with minimal escalations .
Key Responsibilities
Network Support & Operations
- Provide Tier 1 support for enterprise network environments including:
- Routing and switching
- Wireless networks
- Firewalls
- WAN/LAN connectivity
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, including:
- Layer 3 connectivity problems
- Wireless performance and access issues
- Monitor and manage daily ticket queues with a focus on timely resolution
- Perform root cause analysis and document solutions
- Assist with network upgrades, refreshes, and lifecycle initiatives
- Support implementation of network enhancements aligned with best practices
- Execute test plans to validate network changes and deployments
- Contribute to improving network reliability and performance
- Support refresh and replacement of network infrastructure (switches, firewalls, APs, SD-WAN devices)
- Maintain inventory tracking and lifecycle documentation
- Assist with decommissioning and upgrade planning across multiple locations
- Work cross-functionally with IT teams to resolve incidents and implement solutions
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Build strong relationships while delivering a high level of service
- Experience in network engineering or network support roles
- Strong troubleshooting skills across:
- Routing & switching
- Wireless networking
- WAN/LAN environments
- Knowledge of network security principles and best practices
- Hands-on experience with enterprise network infrastructure
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
- Experience with:
- Juniper or HPE (Layer 3 routing/switching)
- Aruba wireless
- Palo Alto firewalls
- SD-WAN technologies (nice to have)
- Exposure to multi-vendor network environments
- Experience with automation-driven or template-based network management tools
- Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and change management processes
- Experience with asset tracking and lifecycle management
- Hybrid schedule (onsite 2 days per week, remote 3 days)
- Standard hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CT
- Participation in:
- On-call rotation (approximately 1 week per month)
- Daily ticket queue support
- Occasional local travel within the region
- Part of a 4-person Tier 1 Network Support team
- Ability to escalate to Tier 2 when necessary, though minimal escalations are expected
