Overview
TEKsystems is seeking a skilled MES/SCADA Support Engineer to support and enhance manufacturing execution and automation systems. This individual will play a critical role in maintaining system uptime, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring reliable integration between manufacturing systems and business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance MES/SCADA systems (Rockwell FactoryTalk)
- Support and program Allen-Bradley PLCs
- Design, implement, and troubleshoot SCADA/MES network topologies
- Integrate software with hardware systems, including system upgrades and redundancy configurations
- Execute system outages and support remote access via VPN/RDP
- Manage and support SQL databases, including queries and administration
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and plant stakeholders
- Provide on-call support and assist during scheduled production downtimes
- Proactively identify and resolve system reliability issues
- 5 years of experience with Rockwell FactoryTalk
- 3 years of experience with SCADA systems
- 3 years of experience with electrical networking and remote access tools (VPN/RDP)
- 3 years of Allen-Bradley PLC programming
- 1 year of SQL administration and query experience
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, domain administration, and electrical systems
- Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience with SQL Server administration
- Familiarity with object-oriented programming or VBA
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience working in manufacturing environments
- 50–60% travel required (primarily 2–3 days per trip)
- Occasional travel up to one week
- Travel primarily to:
- Broadview, IL (Chicago area)
- Dyersburg, TN
- Lexington, KY
- Flexible scheduling – travel driven by project needs
- All travel expenses covered (including optional TSA PreCheck)
- Hybrid role with standard hours (Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM)
- On-call availability outside business hours required
- Initial 2-month onboarding/training period with Manufacturing Systems Analyst
