Healthcare Call Center

Position Overview

We are seeking detail‑oriented and customer‑focused Intake Specialists to support our growing healthcare operations. This role is responsible for accurately processing referrals, reviewing medical documentation for compliance, coordinating with referral sources and internal teams, and communicating directly with patients regarding services and financial responsibilities.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining broad exposure across healthcare operations—including insurance, patient services, compliance, and intake workflows. The role is well‑suited for recent graduates with call‑center experience or professionals early in their healthcare careers.

Due to recent growth from new contracts and increased sales volume, we are hiring four (4) Intake Specialists to support increased demand.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately enter referral information within established timelines while meeting quality and productivity standards
• Communicate with referral sources, physicians, and clinical staff to obtain complete and compliant documentation
• Review medical records and clinical documentation to determine payer qualification and compliance prior to service delivery
• Navigate multiple EMR systems to retrieve and verify required documentation
• Collaborate with leadership, sales, inventory, and insurance verification teams to ensure appropriate services and equipment are provided
• Communicate financial responsibility to patients, collect payments when applicable, and document transactions in patient records
• Contact patients when documentation does not meet payer guidelines, provide updates, and present alternative options
• Ensure proper shipping methods are used in accordance with company policies
• Answer inbound phone calls promptly and professionally
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation in patient records and internal systems
• Support referral source relationships and assist with documentation requests
• Participate in on‑call rotation during non‑business hours in accordance with company policy
  
  
  

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Associate’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferred
• Experience in healthcare administration, insurance verification, billing, claims, call center, or customer service preferred
• Experience in healthcare, pharmacy, medical supply, diabetic supply, HME, or Medicare‑certified service environments is highly desirable
  
  
  

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Fully onsite position in a professional office setting
• Extended periods of sitting and computer use; occasional standing, bending, and lifting up to 10 lbs
• High attention and focus required during deadlines, authorizations, and urgent patient needs
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  
  
  

Why This Role Is Open

This position is open due to business growth from new contracts and increased referral volume, requiring additional staff to maintain service quality and turnaround times.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Springfield, MO.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
