Looking for Security Service Technician – TEKsystems

TEKsystems is looking for an experienced Security Service Technician to support routine and emergency service calls for commercial customers. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently.

Job Description

The Security Service Technician will perform routine and emergency service calls, troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning or inoperative equipment, and provide high‑quality customer support. This position works with minimal supervision and may assist in training less experienced technicians.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency service calls.
• Troubleshoot, replace, and repair malfunctioning or inoperative equipment related to alarm.com products.
• Provide customer instruction on system operation and functionality.
• Proctor, coach, and teach junior technicians as needed.
• Perform system testing and signal verification.
• Maintain necessary truck stock, inventory, tools, and equipment.
• Organize and utilize technical resources to ensure efficient task completion.
• Ensure timely progress and completion of assigned work.
• Accurately document service performed and hours worked.
• Complete and submit all required paperwork and task‑related documentation on time.
• Maintain strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Complete additional projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Vocational Training required.
• Three (3) or more years of experience in the security/low‑voltage field.
• Mastery-level knowledge of troubleshooting commercial intrusion, fire alarm, CCTV, intercom, and access control systems.
• Working knowledge of local and national codes.
• Advanced understanding of test equipment such as multimeters, battery analyzers, and decibel meters.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a drug screening.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and technical documents in English.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
