DevOps / Cloud Automation Engineer (AWS Azure)

Location: Chandler, AZ

Hybrid: 3 Days in 2 Days remote

Type: 12-18 Month Contract

We’re looking for a hands‑on DevOps / Cloud Automation Engineer with strong experience across AWS and Azure , deep Infrastructure‑as‑Code skills, and a security‑minded approach to cloud operations. This role focuses on building automated cloud infrastructure, improving CI/CD pipelines, enforcing secure delivery practices, and supporting enterprise‑scale cloud environments.

What You’ll Do

Cloud Infrastructure & Operations

• Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure.
• Build and maintain reusable Terraform modules for multi‑cloud environments.
• Implement automated provisioning, configuration, and orchestration workflows.
• Support containerized environments (EKS/AKS, Docker, Kubernetes).
  
  
  

DevSecOps & Security Automation

• Build secure CI/CD pipelines with integrated code quality, security scanning, and compliance controls.
• Automate cloud security guardrails, IAM policies, encryption workflows, and KMS‑related tasks (no deep KMS specialization required).
• Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks for configuration management and deployment automation.
  
  
  

Automation & Scripting

• Use Python, Golang, or Java to automate platform tasks, extend tooling, and support engineering teams.
• Build internal tools and scripts to improve deployment, monitoring, and operational workflows.
  
  
  

Operations, Reliability & Observability

• Support production systems through monitoring, incident response, and root‑cause analysis.
• Improve system reliability, scalability, and observability in partnership with SRE teams.
• Maintain runbooks, operational playbooks, and system documentation.
• Work with logging/monitoring stacks such as CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Datadog, ELK/EFK, Prometheus/Grafana.
  
  
  

What You Bring

• 5 years in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, or DevSecOps.
• Strong experience with AWS (EC2, IAM, VPC, Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3) and Azure (VMs, Azure AD, AKS, Storage, Networking).
• Deep proficiency with Terraform, including custom modules and state management.
• Experience writing Ansible playbooks for complex deployments.
• Working knowledge of Python, Golang, or Java for automation.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
• Familiarity with enterprise observability and monitoring tools.
• Strong understanding of cloud security best practices and DevSecOps principles.
  
  
  

Nice to Have

• Experience with Kubernetes operators, Helm, or service mesh technologies.
• Exposure to compliance frameworks (SOC2, PCI, HIPAA, etc.).
• Experience with policy‑as‑code (OPA, Sentinel).
• Experience in hybrid cloud or large‑scale enterprise environments.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $80.00/hr.
