Description
Candidate is responsible for ensuring the reliability, stability, and performance of the City‑County’s enterprise infrastructure across more than 150 locations. This role leads the operational oversight of the data center, core network services, and major infrastructure initiatives, working closely with both internal IT leadership and an external managed service provider.
The ideal candidate brings 10 years of broad infrastructure experience, strong conceptual understanding of data center and network technologies, and the ability to guide high‑level architectural conversations. While specific vendor platforms (Cisco, VMware/Broadcom, etc.) are helpful, success in this role is driven more by conceptual mastery, adaptability, and the ability to navigate a fast‑moving but process‑heavy environment.
A major component of this role is partnership and oversight—ensuring the managed services partner meets expectations, adheres to SLAs, and operates as an integrated part of the team. The position requires excellent communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to maintain strong relationships across technical teams, leadership, and external vendors.
