Job Summary
- Establish voice and data networks by installing, terminating, testing, and splicing cables.
- Installing telecommunications equipment, routers, and switches, establishing connections, and
- Verify service by testing circuits, equipment, and alarms, identifying, correcting, or escalating
- Documents network by labeling and routing equipment and cables.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment issues.
- Identify/Pull/Terminate/Test Cat5, 5e, 6, 6A coax and fiber optic communication cable.
- Identify color codes for 568A, 568B, 6 strand fiber, 12 strand fiber, 25 pair and 50 pair.
- Label and document horizontal, backbone and other cables.
- Dress and route cable through conduit, above ceilings, between floors, into telecom closets,
- Build-out telecom and equipment rooms.
- Install Fire-stops and various types of cable penetrations.
- Installation of support structures and cable pathway systems. (J-hooks, support rings, cable
