Alarm Service Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Entry-Level Physical Security Service Technician to support routine service and maintenance calls in commercial environments. This position is ideal for someone looking to start a career in physical security systems and gain hands-on field experience. The technician will perform basic service tasks such as battery replacements, simple rewiring, device swaps, and visual inspections under established procedures and guidance.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform basic service calls at commercial customer sites
• Replace batteries in security devices (e.g., access control panels, door hardware, alarms)
• Complete simple rewiring and cable terminations
• Swap or replace field devices such as card readers, door contacts, motion sensors, and keypads
• Conduct basic troubleshooting to identify common issues
• Verify system functionality after service work is completed
• Accurately document work performed, materials used, and service outcomes
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Follow company procedures, customer site rules, and safety standards
• Communicate professionally with customers and internal teams
  
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Prior experience in physical security, low-voltage, or technical field work
• Familiarity with access control, CCTV, or alarm systems
• Basic understanding of low-voltage or mechanical systems (training or coursework acceptable)
• Comfort using basic hand tools and test equipment
• Ability to follow instructions and standardized processes
• Willingness to travel to commercial job sites
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Ability to pass background checks required for commercial security environments
  
  
  

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

• OSHA or safety training
• Basic knowledge of wiring diagrams
• Manufacturer certifications (can be obtained on the job)
  
  
  

Physical & Work Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
• Comfortable working on ladders or in tight spaces
• Ability to stand, walk, and work with hands for extended periods
• Willingness to work indoors and outdoors at commercial facilities

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Roseville, CA.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
