We're seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead workplace safety initiatives and ensure compliance across our manufacturing operations. This role is ideal for a proactive safety professional who is passionate about creating a culture of safety, minimizing risk, and supporting operational excellence in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and all applicable local, state, and federal safety requirements.
- Conduct routine facility safety inspections and implement corrective actions to eliminate workplace hazards.
- Develop and deliver employee safety training, including equipment safety, hazard communication, emergency response, and safe work practices.
- Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.
- Create, maintain, and update safety policies, procedures, and programs aligned with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
- Promote a strong safety culture through employee engagement, coaching, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and coordinate emergency response plans, drills, and preparedness programs.
- Lead or support the facility Safety Committee and collaborate with operations to improve workplace safety.
- Maintain accurate safety documentation, training records, inspections, and compliance reports.
- Support compliance with SQF and ISO standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience in plastics, packaging, or similar manufacturing industries is highly preferred.
- Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Train-the-Trainer certification or operator training experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety compliance requirements.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and safety documentation systems.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing facility with extrusion, thermoforming, and material handling equipment.
- Regular presence on the production floor and in office settings.
- Ability to work around moving machinery, elevated noise levels, and varying temperatures.
- Flexibility to support multiple shifts when needed.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Occasionally lift up to 35 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders, access elevated platforms, and inspect industrial equipment.
- Must be able to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety footwear.
Salary : $110,000 - $140,000
