Job: Tool Maker — Cold Heading (On-site)
Location: Muscle Shoals, AL
Type/Shift: Full-time, Day shift
About the Role
Support cold heading production by manufacturing, modifying, and maintaining tooling with tight OD/ID tolerances. Collaborate with operators and engineers to keep lines running flawlessly.
What You’ll Do
- Inspect, repair, and replace cold heading tooling
- Build setup kits for new jobs; maintain tooling data/logs
- Operate Hardinge lathes, EDM, surface grinders
- Read blueprints; measure with micrometers, calipers, indicators, comparators
- Hold tolerances down to the thousandths
Must-Haves
- 4 years toolmaking minimum (cold heading preferred)
- Solid machining principles; blueprint literacy
- Basic computer skills for logging/tooling data
