Job Title: Survey Crew Chief / Senior Field Surveyor

Position Summary
Seeking an experienced Survey Crew Chief / Senior Field Surveyor to lead field survey operations and deliver accurate, high-quality survey data across a variety of projects. This role requires strong field expertise, the ability to operate modern survey equipment, and the capability to lead crews while coordinating with office and project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute boundary, topographic, construction staking, and utility surveys
- Operate robotic total stations, GNSS/GPS equipment, and surveying levels
- Collect, verify, and document accurate field data and detailed field notes
- Interpret deeds, plats, boundary evidence, and construction/design plans
- Perform survey calculations using data collectors and tablets
- Coordinate daily field activities and communicate progress with office personnel
- Train and guide survey crew members on proper field procedures
- Maintain safety compliance and ensure safe jobsite practices
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in field surveying with leadership or crew oversight responsibilities
- Strong working knowledge of construction layout, boundary surveying, and topographic surveys
- Proficiency with GPS/GNSS and total station equipment
- Solid understanding of math, geometry, and trigonometry
- Ability to work outdoors in varying terrain and weather conditions
- Ability to lift and carry survey equipment (up to 50 lbs)
- Professional communication and strong attention to detail
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Experience with drone surveying or 3D scanning is a plus but not required.
