Job Title: CNC Machinist / CNC Operator – Level 2
Pay: $21–$28/hr
Location: Bennington, VT
Schedule: 4×10 (Monday–Thursday)
Job Summary
A growing manufacturing operation is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist / CNC Operator – Level 2 to support precision machining activities. The ideal candidate can independently set up machines, perform offsets, monitor production, and ensure parts meet required specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC mills/lathes according to job requirements
- Load/unload materials and monitor machining operations
- Perform tool changes, offsets, and adjustments as needed
- Inspect first-run and in-process parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Verify machine settings and adjust for accuracy and quality
- Perform operations such as drilling, threading, and hole-saw machining
- Document production output and maintain accurate job records
- Identify machining issues and troubleshoot basic errors
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and follow safety procedures
Required Skills & Experience
- 2–3 years of CNC machining experience preferred
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings/blueprints
- Familiarity with tooling, feeds, speeds, and machining processes
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work 10-hour shifts
- Knowledge of quality inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges)
Work Environment & Schedule
- Full-time, onsite position
- 4-day work week (Monday–Thursday)
- Fast-paced manufacturing environment requiring attention to detail
