We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist/Programmer to set up, operate, and program multi-axis CNC mills and lathes for precision manufacturing. The role involves working with complex geometries, tight tolerances, and exotic materials in a high-precision machine shop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and optimize multi-axis CNC machines, including 5-axis equipment.
- Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam, GibbsCAM, or similar CAD/CAM software.
- Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T.
- Select appropriate tooling, work-holding, feeds, and speeds.
- Perform in-process and final inspections using micrometers, calipers, indicators, and other precision tools.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary program or machine adjustments.
- Maintain equipment and follow all safety and quality procedures.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams on process improvement and production efficiency.
Qualifications
- Strong CNC machining, setup, and programming experience.
- Experience with 5-axis/multi-axis machining and CNC mills/lathes.
- Proficiency in G-code and CAD/CAM programming.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, precision measurement, and machining principles.
- Experience machining exotic metals, complex parts, and tight-tolerance components.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Precision machine shop experience preferred.
- Willingness to work overtime or flexible hours as needed.
