About the Role
We are seeking an experienced CNC Horizontal Mill Machinist to set up and operate CNC horizontal milling machines and produce precision components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and production schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and safely operate CNC horizontal milling machines.
- Program machines as applicable and make necessary machine adjustments.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
- Select and install appropriate tooling and fixtures.
- Load materials and run production parts while monitoring machine cycles.
- Perform in-process inspections to ensure parts meet required dimensions and tolerances.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as callipers, micrometres, gauges, and other inspection tools.
- Make tool offsets and machine adjustments to maintain quality and production efficiency.
- Perform basic machine maintenance and maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Work with engineering and quality teams to resolve machining and quality issues.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a CNC Machinist, preferably with CNC horizontal milling experience.
- Strong CNC machine operation, setup, machining, and milling skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience holding tight tolerances in a production or job-shop environment.
- Proficiency with callipers, micrometres, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
- Understanding of tooling, feeds, speeds, and machining processes.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a manufacturing environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical or vocational training in machining or a related field is a plus.
- Experience in precision manufacturing is preferred.
