Job Title: Low Voltage / Structured Cabling Technician
Locations:
- Panasonic – 10301 Astra Pkwy, De Soto, KS
- Amazon – 17320 Hedge Lane, Olathe, KS
Start Date: ASAP
Schedule: Monday – Friday | ~7:00 AM Start (TBD)
Duration: Through Summer (Potential Extension into Fall)
Pay: Up to $33/hr (DOE)
Openings: 6 Technicians
Job Summary
We are seeking experienced Low Voltage / Structured Cabling Technicians to support large-scale commercial projects at Panasonic and Amazon facilities in the Kansas City area. This role focuses on structured cabling installation, terminations, and device mounting, including cameras and wireless access points.
This is a long-term opportunity with potential for temp-to-perm conversion for top-performing technicians.
Key Responsibilities
- Pull, route, and secure Cat6/Cat6A cabling in commercial and industrial environments
- Perform terminations, labeling, testing, and cable dressing to industry standards
- Install and mount wireless access points (APs)
- Mount, position, and adjust security cameras for proper coverage
- Assist with fiber optic cabling (OM4, OS2) where applicable
- Maintain clean, organized, and professional work areas
- Follow project prints, scope of work, and safety guidelines
Requirements
- Experience with structured cabling installations (Cat5e/Cat6)
- Ability to terminate, label, dress, and test network cabling
- Experience working in commercial or construction environments
- Ability to work at heights, on ladders, and in ceilings
- Must have reliable transportation and strong work ethic
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
Tools & PPE Requirements
Tools:
- Basic hand tools (screwdrivers, snips, pliers, punch-down tool)
- Drill/driver preferred
PPE:
- Safety toe boots (above ankle – required)
- Type II hard hat
- Safety glasses
- Gloves
- High-visibility vest
(Most PPE may be provided except boots)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with fiber optic cabling (OM4, OS2)
- OSHA 10 certification (required)
- OSHA 30 certification (preferred)
- BICSI Installer or manufacturer certifications (a plus)
- Experience installing CCTV systems and wireless infrastructure
Interview & Onboarding
- Interview: Microsoft Teams or in-person
- Onboarding Requirements: Background check, drug screening, OSHA 10, lift certification
