Job description
We’re looking for an Accounting Specialist to support our growing client base through high-quality bookkeeping, financial reporting, and client service.
What You’ll Do
Accounting & Financial Review
- Provide bookkeeping and accounting support to firm clients
- Support accountants in the recurring delivery of accurate financial statements
- Prepare financial statements with accuracy and completeness
- Prepare and review journal entries, adjusted trial balances, and tax journal entries, as needed
- Independently prepare Adjusting Journal Entries (AJEs), Journal Entries (JEs), and Tax Journal Entries (TJEs) with minimal supervision
- Explain financial data and outcomes to clients using clear, accessible language
Client Service & Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients
- Deliver timely, high-quality client service
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and internal teams
- Maintain a response time of 24 hours or less for all client and internal communications
Software & Process
- Utilize CCH Axcess, QuickBooks Online/Desktop, Karbon, and Microsoft Office
- Follow firm SOPs and maintain accurate time tracking and assignment status
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and reduce recurring accounting errors
- Assist in developing templates or checklists to support accuracy and consistency
- Maintain proper documentation for all supporting work, adjustments, and reconciliations
What We’re Looking For
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, tax, or a related business field
Experience
- 2 years of bookkeeping experience required
- Experience managing accounting functions across multiple clients, entities, or business accounts simultaneously (public accounting or client-service environment strongly preferred)
- Experience with QuickBooks required
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
