What are the responsibilities and job description for the CAD Technician position at TEGcivil Engineering?
Job Role / Responsibilities:
i. Prepare detailed construction drawings and plans for conventional and specialty retaining walls, bridge components, and other transportation-related structures under the direction of project engineers and project managers.
ii. Create and revise plan sheets, sections, and details using MicroStation per Department of Transportation and company standards and project-specific requirements.
iii. Coordinate with engineers and other CAD staff to incorporate design changes, as-built conditions, and redline markups into final drawing packages.
iv. Assist with quantity takeoffs, plan sheet organization, and project submittal preparation (Issued for Review, Issued for Construction, and Record Drawings).
v. Maintain drawing files, adhere to TEG’s drafting standards, and support quality control processes for design deliverables.
vi. Work collaboratively within project teams to meet deadlines and maintain efficient production workflows.
Qualifications:
· Associate’s degree or technical certification in drafting/design, or equivalent work experience
· Experience with MicroStation or AutoCAD
· Understanding of civil/structural drafting standards and plan organization
· Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret engineer markups and design intent
