Intermediate/Senior Interior Architect/Designer

TEF Design is a San Francisco based, award-winning design firm that provides architectural and interior design services for educational, civic, healthcare, infrastructure, private sector and workplace clients. As a firm of 50, we have a small firm feel with large firm expertise and project range. We enjoy learning from the different typologies and unique design challenges, and have developed deep expertise in certain project types. 

The ideal candidate is a creative self-starter with eight or more years of professional experience in complex project types. Our staff exhibit design strength, technical expertise, strong management and communication skills. You may work in an interactive team environment, or run your own smaller projects, with a focus to develop design solutions specific to our client’s vision and culture. The position offers the opportunity for growth and advancement. 

Responsibilities 

• Team leader in programming, design (all phases), FF&E, finishes, construction documents and administration.
• Communicate design solutions effectively
• Manage schedule, team and design budget
• Coordinate consultants, contractors, and vendors as an integrated design leader
• Mentor team members and less experienced colleagues

Qualifications

• A professional degree in architecture, interior architecture/design
• Interior design certification or license to practice architecture (at minimum, you are in the exam process)
• Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, graphic and visualization
• Technical proficiency in Revit, Sketch-up, InDesign, Enscape3D (or equivalent), Adobe suite
• Ability to work independently and balance needs of multiple projects
• A key attribute is the ability to collaborate well and work as part of a larger design team.

Employment Type: Full Time (40 hours/week)

Location: Hybrid - Mon/Tues/Wed in our San Francisco office, Thu/Fri remote  

Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000

All TEF staff work in-person at our office on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Thursday and Friday are flexible workdays that allow staff to work remotely. TEF is an equal opportunity employer.
