Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans that incorporate literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori methods to support childhood development.
- Create a stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and social interaction among children.
- Manage classroom activities efficiently through effective classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies.
- Conduct assessments to monitor developmental progress, including standardized testing when appropriate, and tailor lesson plans to individual learning needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and specialists in special education and early intervention to support children's overall well-being and learning goals.
- Facilitate engaging lessons that promote literacy skills, numeracy understanding, and physical activity while fostering a love for learning.
- Ensure child welfare by maintaining a safe daycare or preschool setting compliant with all health and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in a preschool or daycare setting, including classroom experience with toddlers and preschoolers.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management techniques, and classroom management strategies.
- Familiarity with curriculum development across various subjects such as literacy education, math, physical education, and special education practices.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
- Demonstrated ability to plan lessons using innovative methods like Montessori or other child-centered approaches.
- Certification or qualification in early childhood education or related fields is preferred; relevant experience may substitute where applicable.
