After School Program Assistant

Job Overview
The After School Program Assistant supports daily teen programming, including volunteer projects, art activities, life skills workshops, and social events. This hands-on role focuses on creating a safe, engaging environment while building positive relationships with teens. Part-time (10–15 hours/week), scheduled across 4–5 days between Monday–Saturday. Most shifts occur after school (4–9 PM), with consistent availability required on Friday evenings and Saturdays. We have two teen centers to choose from as your base of operations (Springdale or Rogers).

Responsibilities

• Applicants must be available to work during the following time frame: 4 - 9 pm (Monday through Fridays) and anytime on Saturdays. Your work schedule (dates, times, locations, and scope of work) will be provided to you by the Director of Youth Empowerment Programs on a monthly basis.
• Leading TASC’s daily after school activities at our teen centers. This will include a combination of teen volunteer activities, art classes, life skills workshops, and social events.
• Transport teens between TASC locations and project locations as needed using TASC vehicles and maintaining appropriate van logs. (Must be comfortable driving company vans independently.)
• Closely supervise all teens in your care including: awareness of all teens’ names, knowledge of how to access emergency contact info, familiarity with TASC emergency procedures, constant presence with the teens on our site or out in the community, and a “hands-on” approach to overseeing the safety and well being of all minors.
• Ensure the proper closing of TASC facilities at the end of day through replacing materials, turning off lights, and locking doors.

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must pass reference and background checks, including fingerprint and sex offender registry checks, as well as a clean driving record.
• Previous experience working with minors is preferred.
• Desire and ability to work with teens.
• Enthusiasm for supporting young people.
• Must be comfortable using company vans to transport teens to and from projects.
• Able to participate in physical activities.
• Must be able to spend time outdoors and tolerate various weather conditions.
• Able to maintain attention and high energy/excitement for extended periods.
• Ability to participate in teaching activities/leading teen projects.
• CPR/First Aid Certification (provided by TASC).

Pay: $15.50 - $17.00 per hour
