Position: Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant
Location: New York City, NY 10286
Duration: 10/06/25 - 12/31/25 (Possible extension)
Schedule:
- Monday - Thursday: 8 am to 5 pm |
- 32 hours weekly | No weekends
Overview: Seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support a workplace-based primary care clinic. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform physical examinations and implement preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and in accordance with physician instructions.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patients’ clinical conditions and healthcare needs.
- Record physical findings, formulate treatment plans, and provide written instructions to patients.
- Work with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive patient care plans.
- Prescribe or recommend medications and treatments (e.g., physical therapy, respiratory therapy).
- Refer patients to physicians or specialized health resources when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records (may include EMR systems such as Epic).
- Educate and guide nursing staff on best practices in patient care.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Essential Requirements:
- Active NP/PA license in New York
- National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. ACLS certification may be required depending on the scope of services.
- Appropriate certification/authority to prescribe medications under state regulations.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner in ambulatory care, occupational health, family practice, or emergency department settings.
- Proficiency in Epic EMR preferred.
