Location: Seattle, WA - Downtown (Hybrid – Must reside locally in Seattle)
Job Type: 6-Month Contract (with potential to convert to permanent or be extended)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 40 hours/week (Manager is flexible on schedule)
Pay Rate: 50-60/hr

The future of work is here! Reliable, user-friendly audio-visual (AV) systems are critical to enabling seamless meetings, internal events, and cross-office collaboration in a distributed and hybrid environment.
As an AV Systems Engineer focusing on Automation & Operations, you will play a key role in maintaining and supporting our enterprise AV environment across multiple corporate offices. This role focuses on operational reliability, system monitoring, and control system support, ensuring conference room technology functions consistently and issues are proactively resolved.
You will be joining a collaborative, highly-functioning team of three (Dept Manager, AV Engineer, and AV Implementation Manager) and will support an AV environment that includes approximately 200 Zoom Rooms and 25 Integrated AV room systems (Q-SYS). This is a hands-on technical role with high autonomy that blends AV systems knowledge with scripting, automation, and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities:
AV Systems Operations & Support
- Provide day-to-day support for Zoom Room conferencing and AV systems across company offices.
- Monitor system health and respond to alerts if systems go offline or experience bugs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve AV hardware, software, and network-related issues to ensure resolution.
- Provide both remote and onsite, in-person troubleshooting and support for AV systems in conference rooms and offsite retreat spaces.
- Assist with project implementation, including onsite testing, installations, and commissioning.
- Support Workplace and event teams to ensure the reliable execution of hybrid meetings and internal events.
AV Control Systems (Q-SYS) & Automation Support
- Maintain and update Q-SYS control system configurations across multiple rooms.
- Support troubleshooting of control system behavior, including audio, video, and device integrations.
- Work collaboratively to potentially revamp the AV system and backend programming/user interface to evaluate and simplify the current build-out.
- Support and maintain AV monitoring and alerting systems (e.g., Slack, Splunk) that track conference room health.
- Assist in maintaining integrations and automation workflows using tools like webhooks, AWS Lambda, and Slack/Splunk.
- Support maintenance of scripts and tools used for AV system monitoring and management.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Location: Must reside in the Seattle area. This is a hybrid role requiring onsite presence in the Seattle office as needed for installations, events, and hands-on support, with remote work other times.
- Experience: 3 years of experience supporting AV systems, IT systems, or similar technical environments.
- Q-SYS Expertise: Strong background and specific software engineering experience with Q-SYS control systems.
- Core AV Skills: Must be comfortable with basic AV installations, cabling, troubleshooting, and conference room technologies (e.g., Zoom Rooms).
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly translate and communicate technical issues to non-technical individuals and stakeholders.
- Work Style: Ability to work independently with high autonomy, prioritize issues in a fast-paced environment, and collaborate effectively with a close-knit workplace team. Customer-focused mindset committed to delivering high-quality experiences.
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):
- Live events background to assist with large-scale internal events (e.g., All-Hands meetings, Town Halls).
- Experience with Zoom and Zoom production studios.
- Background in Q-SYS specific scripting (Lua and JSON).
- Basic scripting or automation experience (e.g., Node.js, Python).
- Experience with monitoring or observability tools (e.g., Splunk, logging systems, alerting tools).
- Familiarity with hardware like Logitech and Neat.
- Familiarity with GitLab.
