Toddler/Infant Teaching Assistant
Ted E. Bear Academy – Knob Creek
Johnson City, Tennessee
Ted E. Bear Academy–Knob Creek is seeking a dependable, caring, and energetic Teaching Assistant to support our infant and toddler classrooms. This position is ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys working with young children and wants to help create a safe, nurturing environment where they can learn, grow, and feel loved.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the lead teacher with daily classroom routines, activities, and transitions
- Provide attentive, responsive care for infants and toddlers
- Help with feeding, diapering, toileting, handwashing, and nap routines
- Supervise children closely and maintain a safe, clean classroom
- Encourage early language, social-emotional, and motor development through play
- Communicate positively and professionally with children, families, and coworkers
- Follow all center policies and Tennessee Department of Human Services requirements
- Help document meals, diaper changes, naps, activities, and other daily information
- Assist in cleaning and sanitizing toys, equipment, and classroom areas
- Provide dependable classroom coverage and work cooperatively as part of our teaching team
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous childcare experience is preferred but not required
- Patient, dependable, and comfortable working with infants and toddlers
- Able to lift and carry children and remain active throughout the workday
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Must meet all TDHS employment, training, health, and background-check requirements
- Must be willing to complete required professional-development training
