Title: Clerical Aide at Tecumseh North Elementary
Hours: 8 Hours Per Day, Monday - Friday, 172 days per year
Reports to: Building Principal
Purpose and Objectives of the Position: The Clerical Aide has primary job responsibilities in the office assisting with office duties, they also do lunch room and student supervision. To accomplish these tasks, the Clerical Aide works closely with the staff and administration of the district.
Essential Job Functions:
- Ability to assist students, teachers, and parents as needed.
- Ability to respond to information requests in a cooperative, courteous, and timely manner.
- Ability to receive incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.
- Ability to distribute office passes and notes as directed.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively and cooperatively with members of the school district and community.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot all office equipment.
Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:
- Must work in a noisy and crowded environment, with numerous interruptions.
- Requires stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, and turning.
General Responsibilities:
- Ability to maintain a daily student attendance record on students and prepare attendance reports.
- Ability to organize information and materials with attention to detail.
- Ability to coordinate volunteers for various projects and events.
- Ability to supervise students, including lunch room supervision.
- Ability to prepare instructional materials and supplies for use.
- Ability to order school and teacher supplies.
- Ability to assist in the maintenance and inventory of materials.
- Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, parents, community agencies, and other groups.
- Ability to implement and follow all school district policies during all activities.
- Ability to respond to information requests in a cooperative, courteous, and timely manner.
- Ability to perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as assigned by the teacher, Principal, or other administrative staff.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to use computer, printer, copier, credit card machine, laminator, and fax machine.
- Ability to observe and follow all school district policies at all times.
- Ability to react to change and frequent interruptions in a productive and positive manner, meeting deadlines as assigned.
- Ability to implement and follow all district health and safety policies, including all precautions of the Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan.
- Must complete annual training required by district.
- Must verify good health by passing a physical examination that includes TB and drug test as required.
- Desire to continue career improvement by enhancing skills and job performance.
- Ability to keep student and personnel information and records confidential.

Salary : $16 - $18
