What are the responsibilities and job description for the Workday Administrator position at TechTriad?
Workday System Administrator
NYC, NY/Winston Salem, NC – Hybrid
6 Months C2H
Position Summary: New implementation of Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) and Financials to replace our existing General Ledger (Great Plains) and HCM tools (ADP).
We are seeking a versatile Workday Systems Administrator to support and optimize our platform across both modules, including expenses. The ideal candidate has strong, hands-on experience administering Workday Payroll in particular, ideally with exposure to both HCM and Financials. We understand candidates may bring deeper expertise in one functional area / module, but the role will require learning and supporting the full platform.
This role will focus on day-to-day Workday systems administration, including configuration, reporting, and user-support. The administrator will also have limited access to an Application Management Services (AMS) partner for escalations and complex requests but is expected to handle ongoing operations and business needs directly.
Importantly, this position will start prior to Workday go-live, giving the administrator the opportunity to help prepare the organization, understand the environment, participate in knowledge transfer, and be ready to take ownership once the system is live.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Serve as a primary administrator for Workday HCM and Financials, ensuring system stability, security, and performance
- Manage configuration changes, business processes, security roles, and integrations across Workday modules
- Partner with HR, Finance, and IT stakeholders to gather requirements and implement system enhancements
- Support system upgrades, testing, and release management activities
- Troubleshoot issues, manage support tickets, and coordinate with Workday AMS or vendors for escalated/complex items
- Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and analytics to support business decision-making
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, data governance, and security standards
- Participate in implementation activities, knowledge transfer sessions, and pre-go-live readiness work.
- Document processes and train end users as needed
Qualifications Required:
- 3 years of Workday system administration experience (HCM, Financials, or both)
- Hands-on configuration experience with Workday business processes, security, and reporting
- Strong understanding of HR and Finance business processes (e.g., payroll, recruiting, expenses, AP/AR, GL)
- Experience supporting Workday integrations (file-based, APIs, or middleware)
- Analytical mindset with the ability to translate business needs into system solutions
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner across HR, Finance, and IT
Qualifications desired:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, HR/Finance, or related field
- Workday certifications (HCM Core, Financials, or Reporting)
