Title: Seibi Digital Technician
Location: Georgetown, KY
Duration: 12 months
Travel: 30% including International travel to Canada, Mexico and Japan. This could be for observations and for hands on work too.
The primary responsibility of this role is to perform offline Digital Engineering studies (develop virtual robot programs, confirm process feasibility and Digital Factory) in support of New Model implementation to Manufacturing Centers. This role will also include onsite programming robots at manufacturing or vendor facilities, supporting equipment preparation, other production related studies, development of Weld Schedules, and department efficiency/improvement initiatives.
Reporting to the DE Project Manager, the person in this role will support the Body PE department's objective to provide new model processes to the manufacturing facilities which meet all targets for Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost and Compliance, while continuously improving our processes.
What you will be doing
- Conduct DE studies to produce virtual robot programs and confirm new model process feasibility.
- Confirm Digital Factory Condition for accuracy.
- Create Weld Schedule Instruction Sheets and provide other supplemental documents to customers.
- Conduct New Model support studies (DE) studies.
- Support Machine Seibi in new model preparation activities, including programming robots at vendor locations or manufacturing centers.
- Prepare and confirm new or modified Body Weld equipment at the vendors or manufacturing centers.
- Develop equipment countermeasures during planning/set-up/trial phases.
- Up to 30% travel (or dispatch) to U.S., Canada and/or Mexico NAMCs and suppliers, as well as foreign travel including Japan, Canada, Mexico.
- Up to 50% overtime, including weekends and holidays.
What you bring (required)
- Robotic programming of industrial robots using teach pendants and/or offline programming using Delmia(C3) or other simulation software. (intermediate)
- Associate technical degree (or higher), or 2 years of experience teaching robots both in a 3D simulation environment or onsite at the teach pendant
- Delmia (Carott3) experience with exposure to performing 3D robot simulation studies (will consider other 3D simulation software) for robot offline programming.
- Ability to travel up to 30% at times (including international travel).
- Proficient with Microsoft products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
What you may bring (Bonus)
- B.S. in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial/Electrical Engineering.
- Experience in CAROTT/DE SEIBI, MACHINE SEIBI, ROBOT PRE-DE Teams or Body Weld maintenance experience.
- Visual Components (BisFactory) experience.
- Body Shop Project / Mass Production Experience.
