Seeking a hands-on, innovation-minded 1 to 3 years experienced Mechanical Engineer to help design, refine, and bring to market products that are easier to install, easier to service, and built to last. This role is ideal for a mid level engineer who enjoys ownership, from early concept through production, and who takes pride in translating real-world installer and builder feedback into elegant, manufacturable solutions.
In this role, you will work in close partnership with the Director of Engineering, supporting new product development and continuous improvement efforts across our portfolio. Your responsibilities will include executing mechanical designs, developing and system layouts and plans, validating performance through prototyping and testing, and supporting the transition from design to production. You will help ensure designs are accurate, manufacturable, and aligned with real-world installation conditions. Success in this role requires strong engineering fundamentals, attention to detail, and the ability to operate within a disciplined NPI process while maintaining a practical, field-driven approach to design.
Duties:
Role and Responsibilities
- Support the Director of Engineering in executing new product development initiatives from concept through production, including design, prototyping, testing, and release.
- Develop detailed mechanical designs and drawings for equipment and accessories, ensuring alignment with performance, durability, manufacturability, and quality standards.
- Create, review, and refine system layouts and plans, ensuring hydraulic effectiveness, proper coverage, and installer-friendly execution.
- Incorporate real-world builder, installer, and service feedback into design improvements and future product iterations.
- Assist in prototype build, testing, validation, and failure analysis to confirm designs meet functional and environmental requirements.
- Collaborate with supply chain, operations, and external manufacturing partners to support DFM/DFA, tooling readiness, and production launch.
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, and revision control, in accordance with NPI and ECO processes.
- Support product certification and compliance activities as required (e.g., safety, performance, regulatory testing).
Provide technical support to internal teams (sales, customer support, training) related to product function and installation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
- 1-3 years of experience in mechanical design and product development, preferably in consumer products, industrial equipment, or fluid-handling systems.
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, tolerances, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and detailed drawing creation (SolidWorks or similar).
- Experience supporting products from concept through production, including prototyping, testing, and design iteration.
- Ability to read, create, and review technical drawings, specifications, and bills of materials.
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Experience with fluid dynamics, hydraulics, or related flow-based systems.
- Experience creating layouts. (AutoCAD)
- Familiarity with DFM, tooling considerations, and working with overseas manufacturers.
- Experience supporting structured New Product Introduction (NPI) and Engineering Change Order (ECO) processes.
Exposure to product testing, validation, and root-cause analysis in real-world operating environments.
Salary : $75,000 - $80,000
