Description:Job Title: Relay WiremanLocation: Carolinas (Eastern NC/SC)We are a dynamic and rapidly growing company in search of entry level and experienced Relay Wireman to join our team in supporting a wide range of Substation projects. Our Relay Wiremen specialize in constructing, testing, maintaining, and repairing substation, protection, and control systems, and ensuring electrical grid reliability by configuring, wiring, and assisting Relay Technicians in calibrating protective relays, switches, and circuit breakers, often troubleshooting complex faults using schematics and diagnostic tools. Key Responsibilities:Installation & Wiring: Installing, wiring, and testing protective relay panels, control cabinets, and substation equipment.Testing & Calibration: Using tools like ohmmeters, voltmeters, and specialized test sets to verify correct wiring and properly working equipmentTroubleshooting: Assist Relay Technician in analyzing test data to identify and repair faults in control circuits, transformers, and circuit breakers.Blueprint Reading: Interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to guide installation and repairs.Maintenance & Documentation: Performing preventive maintenance, tightening connections, and documenting test results and system modifications. Required Skills and Qualifications:Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of electricity, protection schemes, and both electromechanical and microprocessor-based relays.Tools Proficiency: Skilled in using multimeters, insulation testers, and specialized test sets.Safety Compliance: Strict adherence to electrical safety standards (e.g., NFPA 70E) and, when applicable, National Electrical Code (NEC).Position Details:Start Date: April 1, 2026 (Estimated)Projects: Brownfield/ Greenfield T&D Substations Pay-rate: $25-55/hr.
