JOB DESCRIPTION:

• The Director Oracle Database Engineering team is responsible for managing public and private cloud databases and responsible for the design, build, and operational aspects of the database.
• The Director Oracle Database Engineering is responsible for leading the database team and will be responsible for the strategy, design, implementation, and operations of database solutions. You and your team will engage with the infrastructure and application development teams and support the adoption of cloud database solutions and provide a clear path to migrate from the private cloud to the public cloud.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead engineering and support teams that will support efforts.
• Collaborate and align with the modernization plans of the platform and application development teams.
• Enhance and further mature the Oracle distributed database service that is attuned to the customer’s needs by promoting self-service capabilities.
• Extensive involvement in audit and regulatory reviews for all items related to the cloud database space.
• Encourage & lead automation initiatives for public and private cloud databases.
• Strong people leadership to empower, encourage, and engage.

Must Have:

• Bachelor's degree preferred with Masters or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in database engineering, delivery, and support, with a focus on Oracle database technologies.
• Proven experience working with Oracle databases hosted in private and public cloud environments.
• Financial industry experience.
• Hands-on expertise in automation and orchestration tools like Terraform, Ansible, and GitLab.
• Experience in private cloud to public cloud platforms.
• Strong people leadership and team-building skills.
• Technical Skills:
• Deep technical understanding of Oracle database solutions.
• Familiarity with designing and implementing self-service database solutions.
• Understanding of cloud database reliability and security practices.
• Leadership & Compliance:
• Experience leading engineering teams and aligning their goals with organizational modernization efforts.
• Strong knowledge and involvement in audit and regulatory reviews related to cloud databases.
• Methodologies & Collaboration:
• Experience working with the Agile methodology.
• Ability to foster cross-team collaboration and create partnerships to achieve organizational goals.
• Strategy & Innovation:
• Passion for building innovative and automated database solutions.
• Experience with creating transparency between technical and business teams.
