What You Will Be Doing
You will join our greenhouse operations team as a Software Developer focused on imaging technology and automation. In this role, you will design and implement image analysis pipelines that support production workflows, working closely with automation, infrastructure, and operations teams. You will build and deploy solutions that extract insights from images and integrate them into real-time control systems, ensuring seamless data transmission across enterprise networks. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative automation efforts in a cutting-edge agricultural environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy image analysis solutions to support greenhouse production workflows.
- Apply classical computer vision techniques and deep learning models to extract meaningful data from images.
- Integrate imaging systems with automation and control systems, including sensors, actuators, and machine interfaces.
- Design and maintain pipelines to transmit image data and derived insights across enterprise networks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including automation, infrastructure, and operations.
- Support containerization (e.g., Docker) and CI/CD pipeline implementation.
- Analyze imaging data to improve automation and control system efficiency.
- Document software solutions and ensure system robustness and scalability.
Required Skills & Experience
- 4 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong Python programming skills, especially for image processing and analysis.
- Hands-on experience with computer vision and machine learning frameworks such as OpenCV, YOLO, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
- Familiarity with Docker or similar containerization technologies.
- Linux environment experience.
- Experience interfacing with I/O devices for automation or machine control.
- Proficiency with Git version control and CI/CD pipelines.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (ABET-accredited preferred).
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Knowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks (Vue, React) for frontend development is a plus.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Experience working in prototyping or research and development environments.
- Exposure to industrial automation systems or equipment.
- Hands-on experience with deep learning convolutional neural network (CNN) models for image analysis.
- Networking and firewall configuration experience.
