The expected salary range for this role in the New Jersey Area is $115,000 - $155,000 per year. The total compensation, including salary and bonuses, is determined by various factors such as experience, skill level, location, and qualifications, which are evaluated during the interview process

About The Role
Techno is seeking a highly experienced Senior Bridge Structural Engineer to serve as a Senior Resident Engineer on a transformative transportation infrastructure program that will reshape the future of transit along the Northeast Corridor. You will be at the forefront of a multi-billion-dollar initiative involving complex bridge and tunnel work, supporting safe, efficient, and sustainable transit for generations to come.
What You'll Do
- Serve as the Senior Resident Engineer overseeing field operations related to structural bridge and civil construction activities.
- Supervise and manage contractors to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, and applicable standards.
- Lead a team of assistant resident engineers, inspectors, and support staff in the day-to-day oversight of structural work.
- Review and approve contractor submittals, RFIs, and construction schedules.
- Coordinate with project stakeholders, including agencies, consultants, and contractors, to resolve field issues promptly and effectively.
- Monitor project progress and performance, prepare daily and monthly reports, and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Ensure safety, quality assurance, and environmental compliance on all construction activities.
- Provide technical guidance in structural engineering matters including concrete, steel, and foundation construction.
- Participate in progress meetings and represent the owner’s interests in all on-site construction activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in NY and/or NJ required.
- Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in bridge and structural engineering, including field engineering and construction oversight.
- Proven experience managing structural components on large-scale transportation or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of bridge design and construction standards, including AASHTO and applicable state DOT specifications.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience managing multi-disciplinary teams on active construction sites.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
- Familiarity with federally funded projects and reporting requirements is desirable.
