SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Team Lead is responsible for supervising and motivating team members. As a team leader, you will be the contact point and liaison between team members and supervisor. You are responsible for acting proactively to ensure smooth team operations and effective collaboration. Ultimately, you should lead by setting a good example and engaging the team to achieve goals.
JOB DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure that scrap is being recorded in the Plex ERP system by operators.
- Make sure the Pace boards are updated hourly.
- Lead assigned team to meet or exceed safety, quality, delivery, and cost standards within your assigned work area(s).
- Serve as key contact for team members in daily work assignments.
- Serve as the key communication point for shift supervision and operations management.
- Fill in as needed to cover planned and unplanned absences, prioritizing based on operational needs.
- Communicate issues that hinder the achievement of safety, quality, delivery, costs, and/or morale goals.
- Operate all equipment per standard work practices within your assigned work area.
- Maintain a safe work environment in your assigned work area.
- Subject Matter Expert for all equipment and processes in your assigned work area.
- Trainer for your assigned work area. Train all employees based on work instructions and other requirements.
- Assist as needed in troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing production equipment in your assigned work area.
- Verify that all quality checks, including measurements and documentations, are being recorded in the SPC system per job specifications and standard work practices within your assigned work area.
- Actively participate and contribute to the team within your assigned work area.
- Perform all required duties and communicate information during the shift overlap procedure.
- Adhere to housekeeping Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in and around the work area, including 5S standards.
- Understand and comply with TS16949 requirements.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform routine daily production inspections, which may include Safe Launch Inspection, recording molding machine data, recording machine cycle times, collecting scrap information, advising the production supervisors of unsatisfactory quality levels, monitoring production operations, and alerting appropriate supervisors of potential quality problems.
- Level 1-containment activities and/or self-identified sorts that are deemed necessary.
- Complete sort rework, sort sheets, and identify material as appropriate.
- Follow rework instructions as appropriate, utilizing marked samples, operator instructions, and/or digital pictures.
- Recommend any necessary adjustments and changes to the production processes.
- Use gadgets such as micrometer screw gauges to measure products.
- Accept or reject finished products and discuss inspection results with the production team. Recommend strategies to improve product quality.
- Perform random inspections to assess product quality.
- Perform Dock Audit as required
- Willing and able to work overtime as required to support production.
Qualifications:
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- An associate's Degree in an applicable technical field is required, or a combination of relevant experience and training.
- 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a Tier I or Tier II automotive manufacturing environment.
- Direct experience with the types of processes encompassed by areas of responsibility (such as injection molding) preferred, or ability based upon other relevant experience.
- Manufacturing leadership is preferred.
- Meets or can develop all Essential Skills requirements for a team member within their areas of oversight within 3 months of position acceptance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and on occasion up to 60 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and climb or balance.
