SUMMARY
Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in verifying and keeping records on incoming shipments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Oversees incoming to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
- Verifies that each and every shipment contains all required documents from packing slips to materials certifications, heat treat cert. & certificates of conformance.
- Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications, and seals loaded boxcars and truck doors.
- Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies maintenance personnel or contacts outside service facility for repair VIA MRF (Maintenance Request Form).
- Directs movement of shipments from receiving platform to storage and work areas.
- Compiles records of unfilled orders.
- Issues written and oral instructions to the receiving clerk.
- Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
- Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.
- Prepares composite reports from individual reports of subordinates.
- Adjusts errors and complaints.
- Assures that all materials are properly identified & stored as per AS 9100 operating procedures.
- Confers with supervisors of other departments to coordinate flow of materials or products.
- Verifies or prepares records such as routing slips, material requisitions, and job orders.
- Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
- Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
- Interprets job orders to workers, and assigns duties.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
