SUMMARY: Coordinate and expedite the flow of work for an assigned shift within or between departments according to production schedule.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
The Team Lead reports directly to an operations supervisor in a fast-paced high-performance environment and is expected to:
- Influence others by being a positive role model and help promote healthy cohesive teamwork by modeling the way, being honest and approachable, reinforcing positive behavior, and helping where and when needed.
- Track and report wave status to Operations management and issue status reports throughout shift according to status report schedule.
- Assists in actively aligning workforce capacity to meet the workflow volume within a team and shift; assist supervisor with job assignments.
- Be willing and able to perform all functions of team members, and assist in training and assimilating new team members.
- Be instrumental in ensuring that all work is performed safely, accurately, and according to Standard Operating Procedures and best methods.
- Utilize effective time management and work with minimal supervision; effectively respond to and resolve HOT requirements, effectively communicate at all levels (across, up, and down)
- Identify and solve problems and suggest solutions to supervisors; inform management of issues as needed and upon conclusion of shift.
- Receive, store, and distribute material, tools, equipment, and products.
- Promote a safe, clean and healthful work environment.
- Work variable and flexible hours as needed.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma with some college courses preferred; two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to communicate with supervisors, managers, co-workers orally and in writing; ability to understand and follow instructions and training. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Possess high level of attention to detail and follow through; leadership, and good communication skills both oral and written.
Knowledge of quality programs and experience in distribution and warehouse environments preferred.
Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and various warehouse (WMS) management or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk and climb stairs; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
