TSR is seeking a Sr. Project Engineer to support civil, structural, and architectural engineering execution on complex EPC projects. The Senior Project Engineer will act as an extension of the project team and support engineering oversight, coordination, and execution activities to manage Capital Project(s). This is a contract position based in Ft. Worth, TX and required to be on-site full-time.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Act as Owner’s representative for discipline‑specific project execution
- Coordinate with EPC, vendors, and construction contractors
- Review engineering deliverables for compliance with project requirements
- Support design development, constructability reviews, and change management
- Track discipline‑specific schedules, interfaces, and action items
- Participate in project meetings, progress reviews, and technical workshops
- Support field activities, RFIs, and issue resolution during execution
- Ensure alignment with safety, quality, and project standards
Essential Duties
- Manages and supports Capital Project Engineering efforts for infrastructure and equipment.
- Engage with Procurement and Engineering teams for appropriate project resourcing.
- Collaborates with Capital Projects Team, Research and Development, and Manufacturing Engineering teams, and provides leadership in development of best practice projects and capital management.
- Directs integration of engineering and technical activities in support of project development and execution.
- Supports other programs and management systems and continuous improvement.
- Supports construction activities by inspecting and validating engineering trade design requirements are performed per the scope of work.
- Supports developing, promoting, and carrying out of policies to ensure that the facility is in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Incorporates safety, health, and environmental best practices and regulatory compliance into all engineering and project management activities, and ensure adherence to engineering principles, practices, and standards.
- Provides technical and engineering support to plants, including conducting engineering studies and development of capital cost estimates.
- Develop capital project processes and procedures
- Occasional travel to subcontractor/vendor locations
Qualifications
- B.S. or higher in Civil/Structural Engineering.
- Ability to understand, interpret, and communicate information from engineering drawings and documentation.
- Ability to coordinate with vendors, contractors, subcontractors, project managers, engineering, operations
- Ability to deal effectively and confidently with ambiguity, assess situations rapidly, and take quick and appropriate action.
- Overall 10 years of experience and 5 years' experience in a project engineering and management role within industrial and high-tech manufacturing environments, including subject matter leadership for Civil/Structural/Architectural disciplines
- Industry knowledge in high-tech manufacturing facilities is preferred.
- Medium to large sized capital project experience preferred.
- Must be able to understand and discuss cost estimates, budgets, actualized costs, forecasts, and schedules.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, MS Project)
- Demonstrated skill/knowledge in the following areas: Capital project management, Construction, Civil Structural/Architectural design, construction, and commissioning/startup.
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, onsite project environment
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
