What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Services Engineer position at Technical Source?
Technical Source is hiring 2 Field Service Engineers in Minneapolis, MN. The Field Service Engineer is responsible for maintaining a high standard of professional customer support. In this role, the Field Service Engineer will act as the face for the company, making sure our customer needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.
This person will travel throughout an assigned territory installing, repairing, maintaining, and qualifying laboratory instruments, primarily chromatography and spectroscopy equipment. The role requires a chemistry degree, at least two years of hands-on troubleshooting experience, strong customer-facing skills, and comfort working independently in regulated laboratory environments.
Role #1 – Minneapolis – Need someone with organic chemistry experience (liquid chromatography or gas chromatography).
• Drugs, Solvents, Fuels, Proteins, Pesticides, Food Compounds
• Instruments: HPLC, GC, LC-MS, GC-MS
o HPLC: High-Performance Liquid Chromatography
o GC: Gas Chromatography
Role #2 – Minneapolis – Need someone with inorganic chemistry experience (AA, ICP-MS).
• Metals, Minerals, Trace Elements, Water Contaminants
• Instruments: ICP-MS, ICP-OES, Atomic Absorption (AA)
o ICP-MS: Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry
o ICP-OES
o AA
Additional Job Duties:
• Repair complex chemistry instrumentation onsite at customer locations
• Perform technical troubleshooting and maintenance
• Must be able to physically perform technical tasks with wrenches and tools
