WE’RE HIRING: Technical Writer - IV (Medical Device)

Are you an experienced Technical Writer who thrives in fast-paced environments and loves translating complex scientific and engineering concepts into clear, user-friendly documentation? We are looking for a Technical Writer - IV to join our team in St. Paul, MN to support both new and sustaining product development projects for a leading medical device company!

This is a long-term contract opportunity (through May 2027 with realistic possibilities to extend or convert to permanent) where you can directly impact clinician and patient safety by producing high-quality IFUs and manuals.

Location: St. Paul, MN (100% On-site)

Contract Duration: Full-time, Long-term contract

⏰ Hours: 40 hours per week (Daytime, Daytime Hours)

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Research, write, and edit high-quality technical documentation to support new and sustaining product development projects.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Development Engineering, Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, and Clinical teams to gather technical inputs for IFUs (Instructions for Use).
• Work with End-User Materials, with a strong focus on directly writing clinician and/or patient manuals.
• Navigate internal processes and comply with rigorous medical device regulatory labeling requirements.
• Utilize Document Control and Content Management Systems (CMS) to draft, review, and release official documentation.
• Manage and juggle multiple high-priority projects at once with high-level attention to detail and zero hand-holding.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant technical discipline, Communications, Science, English, or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 to 6 years of progressively more responsible experience as a Technical Writer in a medical device, pharmaceutical, or high-technology (biotechnology) environment.
• Industry Know-How: Must have current or recent medical device or pharma industry experience (2-6 years in med device preferred).
• Skills: Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS) and Document Control systems is required.
• Writing Portfolio: Direct experience writing end-user technical documentation, specifically clinician and/or patient manuals.
• Mindset: A self-starter who learns new tools quickly, possesses a very high attention to detail, and can successfully self-manage their own project deadlines.
