PROJECT MANAGER The Project Manager shall perform the following duties and responsibilities:

  • The contractor shall chair and facilitate all meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • The contractor shall provide expert guidance on building code updates and regulatory compliance.
  • The contractor shall coordinate and manage input from diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, industry professionals, and the public.
  • The contractor shall ensure the code development and approval process adheres to local and national regulatory requirements.
  • The contractor shall develop and maintain a structured timeline for code review, revisions, and approvals.
  • The contractor shall oversee documentation and communication related to construction code development activities and decisions.
  • The contractor shall promote transparency and collaboration throughout the code development process.
  • The contractor shall identify and implement best practices to streamline code adoption and enhance code quality.

The contractor shall support the DOB in aligning updated codes with District goals for safety, sustainability, and innovation.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE๎„“Knowledge/ExperienceRequired/DesiredYears of ExperienceExperience in project management in a supervisory role.Required5 yearsExperience with the International Code Council (ICC) model codes or American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air- Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) standards.Required2-3 yearsExperience reviewing and revising code amendments to ensure compliance with ICC or similar model code organizations is highly desirableDesired1-2 yearsStrong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 365; Excellent analytical skills to evaluate technical proposals, resolve regulatory issues, and make informed recommendations.Required3-5 yearsStrong written and verbal communication skills, including experience facilitating public meetings and preparing technical documentation.Required3-5 yearsAbility to lead multi-stakeholder boards or committees and build consensus among diverse groups.Required3-5 years Education/Certification:Individual shall possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the grade 13 level. Specialized experience includes work directly related to the position which has equipped the individual with the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position, to include reviewing and interpreting residential or commercial building construction on architectural and engineering documents, conducting discovery review oversight, reviewing equipment, specifications, and other related documents; or performing similar work.The Contractor shall possess a Bachelor of Science Degree or advanced degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Urban Planning, or a related field.The contractor shall possess a minimum of one of the following certifications:

  • Building Plans Examiner/Reviewer and Accessibility
  • Residential Plans Examiner
  • Master Code Professional
  • Certified Chief Building Official
  • Residential Energy Plans Examiner and Inspector
  • Commercial Energy Plans Examiner
  • Commercial Mechanical
  • Inspector Commercial Plumbing
  • Inspector Fire Inspector I or II

Pay: $75,893.48 - $85,624.41 per year

Work Location: In person
