Duties
- Lead and coordinate all building inspection activities, ensuring adherence to local, state, or national building codes and regulations
- Oversee construction site inspections, including review of blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to verify compliance with specifications and safety standards
- Conduct detailed quality control and quality inspection assessments on various construction projects, including pipelines and large-scale infrastructure
- Analyze construction data, site reports, and inspection findings to identify issues, recommend corrective actions, and improve processes
- Manage contracts related to construction management services, inspections, and compliance enforcement
- Supervise a team of inspectors by providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to maintain high standards of work
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to facilitate smooth project execution while ensuring safety protocols are met
Requirements
- Certification as a Chief Building Official or equivalent credential from a recognized authority
- Extensive experience in construction inspection, site management, or related roles with a focus on quality control and analysis skills
- Strong knowledge of construction practices, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and construction management principles
- Proven ability to conduct thorough construction site inspections across diverse projects such as pipelines or complex structures
- Familiarity with contract management processes and data collection methods for reporting purposes
- Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with teams and stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to analyze technical information critically and make informed decisions that prioritize safety and compliance
Experience in project management in a supervisory role.Required 5 years
Experience with the International Code Council (ICC) model codes or American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air- Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) standards.
Required 2-3 years
Experience reviewing and revising code amendments to ensure compliance with ICC or similar model code organizations is highly desirable Desired 1-2 years
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 365; Excellent analytical skills to evaluate technical proposals, resolve regulatory issues, and make informed recommendations.Required 3-5 years
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience facilitating public meetings and preparing technical documentation.Required 3-5 years
Ability to lead multi-stakeholder boards or committees and build consensus among diverse groups.Required 3-5 years
Pay: $30.36 - $46.56 per hour
