POSITION SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Worker will ensure our warehouse is running smoothly and respond to maintenance requests. Tasks will vary day-to-day based on what needs attention at the time but can frequently include repairs to facility equipment or building.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment and forklifts by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance. Prepares downtime maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Repair electrical machinery, electrical motor controls, compressed air systems, basic plumbing, piping, bearing , seals, gear boxes, sprockets, chains, belting, and clutches.
- Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
- Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
- Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Five years’ experience in maintenance, or any appropriate combination of education and experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent is a must
- Working knowledge of electricity and electrical troubleshooting up to and including 480 VAC.
- Ability to run conduit and size wiring accordingly to circuit demands and within the boundaries established by the National Electrical code.
- Ability to troubleshoot a programmable logic control.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair plumbing is a plus.
- Ability to cut and weld stainless steel, aluminum, and mild steel a plus.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid Driver’s License or State Identification.
- Authorized to work for any employer in the US.
- Successful pass a post offer drug screen.
- Overtime is required and off shift / weekend work will be required at times.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be physically able to occasionally lift items up to 70 pounds at times.
- Able to climb ladders and work on the roof and from boom and platform lifts safely.
- Must be willing to work in inclement weather i.e. Shovel snow or work outside in the heat and or rain/snow.
- All plant positions require to stand, practice frequent motion of extremities and withstand exposure to heat and cold for extended periods of time.
