Tech Observer is seeking a Director of Business Development to drive strategic growth and new client acquisition for our staffing and workforce solutions business. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of selling staffing solutions to enterprise, mid-market, MSP/VMS, and direct clients.
This position carries no direct people management responsibility and is focused exclusively on revenue generation and business development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic business development plan to drive revenue growth and client acquisition
- Identify, prospect, qualify, and close new enterprise, mid-market, MSP/VMS, and direct client opportunities
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline through cold outreach, networking, referrals, industry events, and strategic account targeting
- Lead the complete sales lifecycle from prospecting through contract execution and account expansion
- Develop relationships with Procurement, Vendor Management, HR, Talent Acquisition, Operations, and C-suite stakeholders
- Negotiate commercial terms, rate cards, MSAs, SOWs, and staffing agreements
- Lead RFP, RFI, and supplier onboarding activities
- Partner closely with recruiting and delivery teams to ensure successful execution and client satisfaction
- Identify opportunities for account expansion, cross-selling, and strategic partnerships
- Maintain accurate pipeline forecasting and CRM reporting
- Stay informed of market trends, competitive landscape, workforce challenges, and staffing industry developments
.Required Qualification
- 8 years of business development experience within Staffing, Recruitment, Workforce Solutions, MSP, RPO, or Talent Solutions
- Demonstrated success selling staffing services to Enterprise, Mid-Market, MSP/VMS, and Direct Clients
- Proven track record of acquiring new logos and generating significant annual revenue
- Experience selling Contract Staffing, Permanent Placement, Project-Based Staffing, RPO, MSP, and Workforce Solutions
- Strong experience negotiating MSAs, SOWs, supplier agreements, and pricing models
- Ability to engage and influence Director, VP, and C-level decision-makers
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Proficiency with CRM system
Preferred Qualification
- Existing network of enterprise hiring managers, procurement leaders, vendor managers, and talent acquisition professionals
- Experience working within large MSP and VMS programs
- Track record of achieving or exceeding annual revenue and gross margin targets
- Experience selling staffing solutions across multiple industries
