TMB has an exciting opportunity for a Data Scientist to provide support to a U.S. Navy program office.
Responsibilities
- The Data Scientist will support data analytics activities for the NAVSEA Director for Surface Ship Maintenance, Modernization, and Sustainment (SEA 21).
- This role is focused on leveraging advanced analytics, data modeling, and visualization techniques to improve decision-making, optimize maintenance schedules, and enhance modernization planning for the U.S. Navy’s surface fleet.
- Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets related to ship maintenance, modernization, and sustainment programs.
- Develop predictive models and algorithms to forecast maintenance needs and resource requirements.
- Create dashboards and visualizations to communicate insights to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Collaborate with program managers, engineers, and IT teams to integrate data-driven solutions into operational workflows.
- Ensure compliance with DoD data governance and cybersecurity standards.
Qualifications
- 5 years professional experience.
- Master's degree in math, science, engineering, or related field.
- 10 years of professional experience is acceptable instead of a degree.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
