Position Overview The Office of Information Technology is in search of a Systems Administrator to play a key role in the oversight, management, troubleshooting, and execution of cloud services and platforms. This role supports infrastructure, applications, data, and other business needs. The duties are broad, ranging from user administration and security measures to architecting and directing technology initiatives across disparate areas including application development, cybersecurity, and multi-cloud management.
Primary Job Duties & Tasks
- Infrastructure Support: Support and expand organizational infrastructure and monitor systems/applications for security, availability, and performance.
- Server Administration: Coordinate server configuration and administration with multiple stakeholders and contractors; provide recommendations for future upgrades.
- Network Performance: Evaluate issues including availability, utilization, and latency. Plan and execute the installation and configuration of equipment, firewalls, and network policies.
- Cloud & DevOps: Create and manage Azure DevOps projects, git repositories, and pipelines. Deploy and manage AWS, Microsoft Azure, and other cloud services.
- Relationship Management: Build and manage relationships in a matrixed environment and find opportunities to refactor solutions for better cost and efficiency.
- Support: Provide daily operations support for servers and assist other IT staff, including developers.
Education & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree (or technical institute degree) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Required Experience:
- 5 – 8 years of professional experience in information systems engineering or a related field.
- 3 – 5 years of IT work experience in infrastructure/network environments (ops, support, maintenance).
- 2 – 3 years of strong professional experience in AWS cloud systems.
- 2 – 3 years experience with Server 2012 R2 through 2022, IIS Administration, and network communications (TCP/IP, DNS, Samba/CIFS, NTFS).
- Highly Desired Experience:
- 2 – 3 years of experience in Microsoft Azure or GCP.
- 3 – 5 years supporting middleware (API Management, IT Service Automation, batch jobs).
- Experience in Microsoft software administration.

- Technical Depth: In-depth knowledge of AWS, Microsoft Server products, and Linux administration (RedHat/Ubuntu).
