Scope of Services
We are seeking a Systems Administrator to play a key role in the oversight, management, troubleshooting, and execution of cloud services and platforms supporting enterprise infrastructure, applications, data, and business operations.
This role is responsible for administering and maintaining server environments, cloud platforms, identity and access management, Microsoft 365, and enterprise infrastructure. Responsibilities include managing user access, implementing security measures, monitoring system performance, and supporting complex technology initiatives across infrastructure, networking, cloud, cybersecurity, compliance, application hosting, and data management.
The Systems Administrator will work on projects and operational support activities of medium to high complexity and will be expected to provide daily administration, maintenance, and support for Windows and Linux server environments while taking ownership of complex technical issues.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Equivalent professional experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Required Experience
- 2–3 years of experience administering Windows Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, and 2022.
- 2–3 years of IIS Administration.
- 2–3 years of experience with network communications, including:
- TCP/IP
- DNS
- Samba/CIFS file sharing
- NTFS permissions
- 2–3 years of strong professional experience with AWS cloud services.
- 2–3 years of experience with Microsoft Azure (preferred).
- Experience with additional cloud providers such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is preferred.
- Experience administering Microsoft enterprise platforms is preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience supporting infrastructure and network environments, including systems operations, administration, maintenance, and support.
- Experience supporting middleware technologies such as:
- API Management
- IT Service Automation tools
- Batch processing services (preferred)
- 5–8 years of professional experience in systems engineering or a related field.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support and expand enterprise infrastructure.
- Coordinate server configuration and administration with internal teams and third-party vendors.
- Recommend server and software upgrades.
- Monitor systems and applications to ensure security, availability, and performance.
- Evaluate network performance, including:
- Availability
- Utilization
- Throughput
- Goodput
- Latency
- Plan, install, configure, and test infrastructure components.
- Define network standards, security policies, and firewall configurations.
- Monitor system performance and perform tuning and troubleshooting.
- Escalate issues to vendors when appropriate.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships across cross-functional teams.
- Identify opportunities to improve system performance, efficiency, and cost optimization.
- Create and manage Azure DevOps projects, Git repositories, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Configure and administer Azure DevOps organizational settings.
- Assist with the design, deployment, and hosting of enterprise application solutions.
- Deploy, administer, and support AWS, Microsoft Azure, and other cloud platforms.
- Provide technical support and guidance to software development teams.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
