Key Responsibilities
- Project Accounting & Revenue Recognition
- AIA Billing: Manage the fullcycle AIA billing process, including G702/G703 forms, schedules of values, and meticulous tracking of retainage.
- WIP & CosttoComplete: Lead the preparation and analysis of monthly WorkinProgress (WIP) schedules identifying overbillings/underbillings and coordinating with project managers to refine "costtocomplete" estimates.
- Job Costing: Oversee job cost accounting to ensure labor, materials, subcontractors and overhead are accurately allocated to specific construction projects.
- Financial Statements: Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Payroll: Oversee the payroll function, ensuring compliance with prevailing wage requirements associated with government contracts and accurate labor burden allocation.
- Accounts Payable: Oversee the accounts payable function, ensuring compliance with purchase order specifications, GL coding and assignment to projects.
- Audit Readiness: Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and bonding companies.
- Internal Controls: Maintain and improve internal control policies to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
- Experience: 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a constructionrelated Controller or Assistant Controller role.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CMA preferred.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the unique billing and service requirements of Building Management Systems and highend HVAC/control systems.
