Duties And Responsibilities
- Develop detailed 3D BIM models of plumbing, HVAC, piping, and mechanical systems from engineered drawings and specifications.
- Produce shop drawings, spool drawings, and fabrication-ready models to support prefabrication and field installation.
- Perform clash detection and interference checks using Navisworks; generate reports and collaborate with project teams to resolve conflicts before construction begins.
- Participate in coordination meetings and maintain clear project documentation on company servers or client platforms (Procore, Bluebeam, etc.).
- Support field teams by providing digital construction layouts for tools such as Trimble robotic total stations and mobile applications.
- Assist engineers, estimators, and project managers with conceptual designs, quantity takeoffs, and design-build deliverables as needed.
- Adhere to company BIM standards and workflows while helping improve processes and templates.
- Collaborate effectively with engineers, project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Help mentor junior BIM staff as your experience grows.

Requirements/Qualifications
- Experience: 2–4 years of hands-on BIM modeling or mechanical design experience, preferably in plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical construction. Field experience is a strong plus.
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, CAD Drafting, or a related field preferred; equivalent practical experience considered.
- Certifications/Licenses: Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
- Physical Demands: Primarily office-based with occasional job-site visits for surveys or coordination; ability to walk active construction sites and lift light materials as needed.
- Work Environment/Safety: Professional office environment with hybrid flexibility and occasional active construction sites; must adhere to safety protocols and wear required PPE when on-site. This is a safety-sensitive position.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
- Familiarity with Fabrication CADmep, Bluebeam, Trimble layout tools, or similar software is a plus.
- Strong understanding of mechanical construction processes, trade coordination, and field layout techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, architectural, and structural drawings.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Collaborative team player comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
