Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Travel Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide high-quality nursing care across diverse healthcare settings. This role involves delivering patient-centered care in various environments, including hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, and community-based settings. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive physical examinations and patient assessments to determine individual health status and needs.
- Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and other treatments following established protocols and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation utilizing EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks.
- Monitor vital signs, manage airway and ventilator support, and assist with complex procedures including catheterization and sterile processing.
- Provide specialized care for patients with conditions such as Alzheimer's disease, dementia, infectious diseases, or those requiring hospice or palliative care.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations including specimen collection/processing and basic laboratory procedures.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop discharge plans, coordinate case management efforts, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support patients with developmental disabilities or those in assisted living or memory care units through compassionate engagement.
- Assist in emergency situations utilizing skills in airway management, acute pain management, trauma response at Level I/II trauma centers, and ICU experience.
- Educate patients and families on health coaching topics such as nutrition, medication administration, and chronic disease management.
Experience
- Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with current state licensure required.
- Prior experience working in diverse healthcare environments including hospitals (medical-surgical, ICU, emergency room), long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, or home care settings.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Experience in critical care areas including ICU or Level I trauma centers is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10 coding standards for accurate medical documentation.
- Familiarity with specialized fields such as geriatrics, pediatrics (including neonatal ventilator management), behavioral health, or occupational health is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology related to nursing practice.
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating within multidisciplinary teams to deliver optimal patient outcomes.
